    1. I would suggest you to start with taking multi-vitamins and fish oil supplements/cod oil liver. And then if you have acne problems, consulting with a dermatologist would be best. If you don't have acne and just suffer from dull skin, there is alot of things you could do at home. Use a face-wash and moisturizer that brightens skin.

  3. Can you do a post on how to get rid of facial hair naturally please . it would be really helpful ! :) i am 'blessed' with lots of hair on my face and it doesn't exactly look attractive :( i've tried bleaching but it just doesn't last long enough and threading is out of the question because its way too painful. Are there any effective natural methods ?

    1. I'm really sorry to say this but there is really no natural way of getting rid of hair. Even if there are any natural methods, the process is too slow and you have to keep doing it for months before you actually see any results.

You are just like me, I cannot bear threading. The pain is just too much. But, beauty doesn't come without pain.

I'll tell you what I do, I thread my upper lip hair when they are like really small, the pain is much less this way. If you grow out a full mustache before re-doing your upper lip it will hurt like hell.

Also, don't thread all over your face. As this will open up your pores badly. Try bleaching only. I have to bleach every 15 days, so it's like bleaching 2 times in a month.

If you want a natural bleach try lemon and turmeric. This will naturally lighten your facial hair.

In the end, you have to try and find out what works best for you.

      Hope this helps. :)

    1. Walaikum As Salam. Yes you can use the body scrub on the face too but remember to be extra gentle.

For the lips scrub just take half a teaspoon of sugar, a little olive oil and honey. Mix it all up and gently scrub your lips for a few minutes. Hope this helps! :)

    1. Hi,
Make a mixture of all the oils you can find (coconut, almond, olive oil) and apply it to your hair. Leave it on for as long as possible, even a day or two. These oils are extremely beneficial and if you follow a rigorous routine and really take care of your hair, you'll definitely see a difference. This is what I do.

I'd advice you to find the cause of your hair fall and dandruff. It could be that your shampoo is too harsh or maybe your diet isn't good enough.

  11. Salam walaykum Saadia :) I love the way Saudi women wear their abayas, you know how they can make a simple black abaya look amazing! Im not a born Muslim so abayas and how to style them is not something im familiar with but i want to start wearing them and also look chic, not fashionable, but you know look presentable incha'Allah. Do you have any advice on how to do this? :)

    1. Walaikum As Salam sister. I love the Saudi abayas too. To make an abaya look simple yet graceful, make sure the cloth is really good. Also, make sure the abaya is the right size, not too short and not too long. I personally love loose and flowy abayas. They look so elegant and graceful. I've a few posts on abaya styling, do check them out. :)

  12. Hi, let me Start by saying I love your blog
I'm a 23 year old woman from Australia, I come from a non religious background.
I just wanted to ask , Do women in Saudi Arabia get treated as second class citizens? Is it hard?
To me it sounds a bit like Islam makes men the boss .
Also, Before a woman marries does their husband get to see them without a hijab?
    Sorry to sound ignorant;
    Respectfully,

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi there, hope you are doing good. You know it is such a big misconception that Islam has given men all the rights. If people really knew the rights Muslim women have they'd all want to be Muslim women. lol

In Saudi Arabia there are some restrictions on women that are more traditional/cultural more than being religious. And, yes some 'traditions' like the ban on driving is really hard for us women living here. It's hard to get around.

Yes, a man can see a woman he 'intends' to marry without hijab. She can wear modest clothes and choose to show her hair if she wants to. When the man sees the woman for the first time that is in the presence of her family. This is as far as I know, not really sure.

You are always welcome to ask me any other questions you might have.
      Takecare!

It is recommend to do deep conditioning treatments at least 2-3 times in a month. Along with this try oiling your hair with different oils. Take multi-vitamins too. Sometimes, hair loss is also caused by a deficiency in the body.

I hope you find a solution.

    1. Walaikum As Salam dear. Thank you for your kind words. Sister, I would suggest you buy a niqab that is made of a softer cloth, so that so much friction doesn't occur. Always try to wear a clean niqab. Make sure you wash your face after removing your niqab to remove any impurities that have been pushed onto your skin by the niqab. I hope these tips are helpful. :)

  20. Hi woman! Really love your blog! Totally inspiring and amazing remedies. Working on the tips and they're going too well. I wanted some tip for sweat in hair and scalp? Its very annoying and taking showers are sometimes too lazy. And if its a bad hair day then its very frustrating. So some help please ?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hey there, thank you for reading and I'm glad you found it helpful.

Do you have excessive sweating in hair and scalp? It could be a problem as it signals something is not normal. If it is normal sweating caused by heat then there are a number of things you can do. Washing your hair is one of them, sorry! It's better you beat the laziness and wash your hair because it might cause other hair problems like hair loss.

But, do check up with a doctor if you feel the sweating isn't normal.

It doesn't matter whether you are an Asian, Arab or Philippino. We have exceptions and examples everywhere.Google Aiswarya Rai ,Miss World who is still young and charming at 40.I haven't seen a single Philippino without a flawless skin.Much lies in the genetics and how we take care of ourselves.People who don't look after their kids, people who are rich and fat, people who are over-conscious about themselves and their make up are not necessarily Arabs, they are everywhere.Good and bad are everywhere, not to be generalized. Our vision should be wider and not tunneled.Peace be with us :)

Saadia you're doing a great job MashaAllah !
I want to ask you about bleaching eyebrows. Earlier I used to thread my thick brows but since I got to know its haraam I have stopped it Alhamdulillah. You can imagine how thick my eyebrows have become now lol
My question is when u bleach the extra hair they turn golden right, aren't they prominent ? Esp in the sun or bright light. This is why I have hesitated in trying out bleaching.
    May Allah bless you. Aameen

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Walaikum As Salam sister!

Thank you for your kind words. When you bleach hair they become golden. So now whether the bleached hair are prominent or not depends on your skin tone. Are you fair? Or medium to dark skinned? If you are fair, then go ahead and try it out. The golden hair will blend in with your fair skin tone. But, if you're medium to dark skinned, the golden hair will appear more emphasized. Also, in the sun they are slightly visible but not very prominent (like I said depending on your skin tone).
Try it out once. If you don't like it the bleach wears off naturally in about 10-15 days. You won't know if you will like it, unless you try.

Hope this helps you. Take care. <3 :*

    1. Hi there! Congratulations and all the best to starting this amazing new phase in life.

It looks like your feet are really dry. You need three things to get rid of dry, rough and ugly feet. Socks, body lotion for dry skin and Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. Do this before bed time.

      1. Soak your feet in a little bucket filled with warm water, also add salt to it. Let your feet soak for 15 mins.
      2. After that scrub your feet and remove as much dead skin as possible. Rinse and dry your feet.
      3. Now, apply a good amount of body lotion to your feet, and let it soak. After about 2 mins lather your feet with the Vaseline petroleum jelly. Apply it generously.
      4. Cover your feet with socks.

You will wake up to soft beautiful feet in the morning. Do this for a few days and you will definitely see a difference. Don't forget to come back and tell me if it worked for you.

      Takecare and enjoy! <3

    1. No product can reverse split ends. They can seal the split end to help it look healthier, but they aren't reversing the damage. Some products can however help prevent future damage.

I'd recommend you to cut the split ends with a good hair cutting scissor. Never ever use razors or blunt scissors. To prevent future split- ends follow up regularly with deep conditioning hair treatments (at least twice a week). Always brush your hair gently. Stop hair coloring and heat tools if you use these often. Oils like coconut, almond, olive oil are extremely beneficial for your hair, so use them often to promote healthy growth. Hope this helps. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There are many ways to lighten dark hair naturally.

Apply lemon juice. Pour lemon juice into a spray bottle and coat your strands completely. Let it dry for about 20 minutes before rinsing out again. Lemon juice can dry out your hair when used often, so mix it with a bit of oil to keep your hair soft.

Use a honey mask. Mix honey with a bit of water and stick it to your hair. Allow it to soak for 30 minutes or more. You'll get some honey colored hair.

      Use henna for reddish highlights.

Go out in the sun! Sun has a natural bleaching effect on your hair. Let down your hair on sunny day for beautiful golden, sun-kissed hair.
      Hope this helps! :)

Salam Walekum Saadia ..I have seen your blog for the firt time yesterday and I find it really impressive and amazing ... a girl coming from one if the most mysterious , beautiful and closed (i mean this in the political way) places of the world and having such a democratic life and style .I totally love this about you. The reason that I'm writing is to know the opinion of an arabic girl as you about some really interesting topics that concern the world and me about your country. Topics like : How is it possible that men in you country don't let the women to grow professionaly in their profession but prefer to keep them in home as beautiful wifes and perfect mothers through history we have learned that that womes all over the world have been seen by society like second hand material but don't you think that is time for you women of arabia to become independent. I would really like your opinion . On the other hand I'm musslim to and i know tha our religion is graceful and peaceful and some people think that is strange but we musslims now that it isn:t true . I come from europe I'm Albanian-Turkish and i would really like that states like italy , grece , germany , france ,spain to understand your culture and our religion as we do .

PS :Really good make up tips , I think that women all over the world should try through make up to have the features that islamic women have.... love to you and i will be waiting for you response . :* <3 <3

    1. Walaikum As Salam Paola. A large number of women here are joining the professional world. Saudi Arabia is not what it was a few years ago. The Saudi government has made a lot of changes that have increased women participation. Saudi women are now actively participating in politics and various other professions. There are a lot of stereotypes surrounding Saudi Arabia, people outside don't know half the truth. I hope to spread some awareness about life in Saudi Arabia for women. There are good and bad but I'm sure positive changes will take place.

Thank you so much for your sweet words. <3

Mikajy has some products that are not at all expensive. They have a line of products called 'Ana Hilwa' which has blushes, eyeliners, lipsticks and nail polishes for the price of just 19 SR. Check it out!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello. I'm doing good, thank you for asking. I like to apply BB cream with my fingers because warm fingers help the cream to sink in better and gives a natural finish. For chapped lips, exfoliate with a mixture of sugar and olive oil scrub, apply a good natural lip balm and drink lots of water.

  50. Hello, I wanted to know if you knew any techniques to make threading any less painful?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Apply warm water to the area before threading. This will open up the pores and make the hair removal less painful. Also, try applying powder on the area before threading. The powder will make sure only the hair is pulled and not the skin. Hope this helps. <3

A few months ago I came across a post on your blog in which you were talking about homemade arab fragrances in the comments. I remember the words "heavenly smell" and being stopped by strangers asking what perfume I'm wearing. I cant seem to find the post so could you please tell me what oils were involved in this fragrance
    Thankyou

    1. Hello. Eid Mubarak to you too. Teeth whitening is a huge problem for me too. Right now I'm using Crest 3D white toothpaste. It is removing the stains but there is still a long way to go. I've tried a lot of teeth whitening products, none of them really worked. And, yes they messed my enamel and gave me the worst kind of sensitivity. Painful! So, I suggest you don't mess with your teeth and just go to a dentist and get it done professionally.

  70. Hello , I'm REALLY happy I found your website. So first of all I just wanted to ask is not allowed in our (Arabian) culture for the girl (teenager) to wear kohl do they really say that the girl is bad just because she is wearing kohl?! Second I have a damaged hair from the roots I've tried EVERY SINGLE THING on this planet to improve it but nothing worked it came to the point that my hair became really rough, curled up and REALLY short like seriously it is ABOVE my ear (due to the curling) what can I do?!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello. I've never heard anything of that sort. 90% girls here use kohl regularly.
Have you tried using henna?! If not, then try it ASAP. Mix real henna with full fat milk and apply it all over your scalp and hair. Leave on for 4-5 hours and then wash it off using conditioner. Don't shampoo. You'll see a difference within one use, Insha Allah.

    1. Hi,
Whiteheads are the biggest struggle of life. Make a regimen of deep cleansing your pores. Put a warm cloth on the whiteheads and then using a blackhead extractor, squeeze out all the gunk. Make sure to keep your skin clean always and remove makeup before sleeping. Try applying tomato juice on the affected areas everyday.
Hope this helps. I will try to write a detailed post on this topic soon. <3 :)

  74. Hi Saadia, I just wanted your opinion on this. What do you think is a good marrying age for a young woman? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi! Personally, I think there is no such thing as the perfect age for marriage. But, I would also say that it is better for both men and women to marry young. Because, this gives them a chance to lead their youth together, to enjoy life together, to grow together.

  75. Hi Saadia! Is there anyway for me to darken my skin naturally? I´m really pale and I hate it, and when I try to sun tan it doesn´t really work out, I burn no matter what product I´m using mostly. I wish I had a darker complexion. Thanks so much! xx

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi!! I know you don't want to hear this. But, I'd suggest you stop trying.. Trust me, you'll end up damaging your skin. I've never heard or read of any ways to darken your skin naturally. Tanning in the sun is harmful and will age your skin. You can use a bronzer or a slightly darker foundation to give you the tanned look. There are a lot of girls out there who would die for your complexion. So, take care of yourself and love what you have. :)

  76. Salaam Alaykom! I have bad skin. It's clear when I do nothing to it, but whenever I start wearing make up it breaks out horribly. I've tried pretty much every soap and that makes me break out as well. The thing is, I want to wear make up without breaking out, I just love how make up looks, even if it is not much. What can I do so I can wear make up and still have decent sking. Thank you, I love your blog by the way, it's the best!!
