Every mother, grandmother, aunt talks about this hair removal method. But, I never actually believed this works. So, I finally decided to put it to the test and now I’m here with my review and experience.
Basically, this method involves making a mixture of besan (gram flour in English) and Haldi (turmeric) with any liquid like milk, yogurt, rosewater, etc. Then you apply it and let it dry completely. After it dries start rubbing it off in circular motions. Fine facial hair sticks to the dried mixture and comes right off.
Do it yourself: hair removal
I do have fine hair on my cheeks and forehead. But, they are not very visible so I never bothered removing them. The only thing that annoys me with this facial hair is that when you wear foundation or BB cream the hair becomes visible and makes the face look cakey. This is the first time I attempted to remove them. After the mixture dried off, I started rubbing it off. It’s actually hard to rub it off. I peeled a big piece off and inspected it. To my surprise, it had tiny hair stuck to it. After rubbing all of it off, my face was red. Obviously, due to all the rubbing. But, it works. It removed most of my cheek hair and the forehead looks clear too. It didn’t remove any upper lip hair. So, don’t count on that. But, it works perfectly on the cheeks, forehead, jawline. This is just in the first attempt. I’m happy I tried it and will definitely be doing this more often.
I made a small batch to store it. Sometimes we just get lazy so it’s easier to have everything mixed up and ready to use in a small box. So, whenever I want to use it I will just add two teaspoons into a bowl with some milk and apply.
Here is a natural recipe
- 1/4 cup Gram flour (Besan)
- 2 teaspoons Turmeric
This recipe makes a lot! So, mix it up and store it in a box. Whenever you want to use it, take a separate bowl add two teaspoons from the mixture. Add some milk and make it into a thick paste. Apply a nice thick even layer all over the face. Wait for it to dry completely and then start rubbing it off. Make sure to rub in the opposite direction of your hair growth.
If you’re not sure about how your skin will react to this. Do it in a small area of your face first.
Tips remove facial hair
