Bridal Makeup Essentials (Budget-Friendly Version)

This was a highly requested post! Finally, I've compiled a list of makeup products I highly recommend. These are the best products that are available in the lower end brands. Makeup here in Saudi Arabia is expensive compared to other countries. So, all of the makeup I'll be listing is from brands like Rimmel, Maybelline, Revlon, Bourjois, Maxfactor etc. Even though these are lower end brands you can't really call them lower end because they are still kinda expensive here...

All of these products are available all over Saudi Arabia in the Center Point, City Max and Lifestyle stores. I've listed alot of options, if you can't find one product you'll still have several other options. Again, I highly recommend these products. But, obviously you have to choose according to your skin tone, skin type and other preferences.

P.s, although, this is a post for brides but other girls can also make use of these recommendations.

Let's get started.

Foundation

Below are some of my recommendations. These are the best that are available in my experience. Some are for oily skin and some are for normal to dry skin. You can test these out before buying them to see what suits you best.

  • Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (for oily skin)
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
  • Revlon Photo Ready Foundation
  • Revlon Color Stay Foundation (for oily/combination skin)

I also quickly wanted to mention Garnier BB Cream. It's perfect for everyday light coverage. Along, with the Garnier Tinted Roll-on/concealer. The BB cream comes in two shades light and medium. Garnier BB Cream is also available for dry skin and oily skin types.

Some tips to keep in mind while picking foundations

  1. Know your skin type. Everybody is different and what might work for your friend may not work the same for you. For example, if you have dry skin - it might be a good idea to go for the hydrating formulas. If you have oily skin, go for oil-free formulas. Pick your foundation according to your skin needs, that is the key.
  2. Do your research. Before you buy anything, you might want to check out what other people think of the product as well. You can check out  makeupalley.com for plenty of product reviews. You should also consider that everybody has different skin types so may also have different requirements and opinions too. Weigh out these factors.
  3. Another very important tip to keep in mind while buying a foundation is, your foundation should match your neck NOT your palm. Because, the tone of your hand is different from the tone of your face. So, while testing apply it on your face near your jaw line and blend it out to see if it matches. Don't choose a shade lighter or darker, go for the exact skin color on your neck.

Concealers

  •   Revlon Color Stay Concealer
  •   Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 Concealer & Highlighter
  •   Garnier Tinted Roll  (Available in medium and light shades, it's amazing for everyday use and also treats dark circles)
  •   Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
  •   Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer

Face Powder/Compacts

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
  • Max factor Foundation Powder
  • Maybelline Fit Me Powder

Eyebrows

  • Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil
  • Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil
  • Mikyajy Eyebrow Tatoo Pen

You can also use an eyeshadow that matches your hair color (for brunettes) to fill in your eyebrows.

Eyeliners/Kohls

  • Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner, Long Lasting Intense Color in Deepest Black (dupe for Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencils)
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl liner
  • Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner
  • Maybelline Colossal Kajal (for everyday use)

Mascaras

  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara
  • Maybelline One on One Mascara
  • Maybelline Colossal Mascara
  • Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara

Eyeshadows and Blushes

I would suggest you to buy a little kit that has eyeshadows and blushes in it. NYX has some makeup sets. But, you can also buy single eyeshadows/blushes. A bride should definitely have some pink and peachy toned blushes in her makeup collection. Eyeshadows are entirely upto personal preference.

Bronzers

Bronzer gives you that beautiful sun-kissed golden glow. An essential for new brides!

  • Essence Sun Club Bronzing Powder
  • Max Factor Bronzing Compact Powder
  • Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzer
  • Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls

Highlighters

A bride needs to glow! And, nobody glows on their own, if they did, they'd be aliens. So, we need highlighters to make us look like a beautiful glowing bride. You don't need to specifically buy something for highlighting, you can use a shimmery champagne eyeshadow.

  • Revlon Photo Ready Skinlights Face Illuminator
  • Max Factor Shimmer Panstick
  • NYX Liquid Illuminator

Lipsticks

  • Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks
  • NYX lip creams
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks
  • Max Factor Lipfinity (For long wearing lip color)
  • Rimmel Apocalypse Lip Lacquer

Lipliners

  • Rimmel Exagerrate Lipliners
  • Prestige Lipliners
  • Max Factor Lipliners

Primers (optional)

  • Revlon Photo Ready Skin Perfecting Primer
  • Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer

Makeup Brushes

There are not many places you can find good makeup brushes except Sephora and the high-end stores. But, I've listed some affordable options you might want to check out.

  • H & M  stores (they have an extensive makeup line)

If you can order online, you should order Real Techniques makeup brushes or click this link --> Ebay Makeup Brushes to check out the brushes I bought off ebay. I bought a complete 8 piece great quality set for just 54 SR (free shipping).

I hope this post helps some of you bride-to-be's. If you've any other queries don't forget to leave them down below, I'll be quick to get back. All the best and enjoy!
